Can't figure it out... Which motherboard?

In a week (payday!) I'm ordering all the parts I need for my very first build.

But I really can't decide on which motherboard to choose from. Trying to decide between the x570 Aorus Elite and the x570 Asus TUF Gaming (no wi-fi).

Different sites say different things. One forum says the Elite is great, other sites say the TUF gaming is better. I really don't know anymore...

It's going to be a gaming pc with Ryzen 7 3700x, if that matters.

What are you using the pc for? in the majority of cases you wont need the x570 and can save a quite a few bucks to put somewhere else.

What if I told you... They are both great!

Really it's a small difference, the TUF is a bit better with overclocking and the Elite has USB 3.2 Gen 2 front panel connector on it.

I wanted it to be somewhat future proof. I know there are a lot of good 450's out there, but I rather get a 570 now. I'm pleased with the others parts I picked out. I just really cant decide on a motherboard ^^

Apparently the TUF has more SATA connections. Which seemed like a big deal for people. But I don't even know exactly what SATA is used for. After a quick google search they are used for storage devices. But why would one want 8 SSD/HDDs!? (I'm new to the PC scene)

I also read that the Elite has Intel Lan. Which also seemed important for some people. But again, I don't even know what that really means.

The  SATA connections are for SSD's, HDD's, optical drives (DVD drives and such).

So yea, 6 vs. 8 seems like both have enough for most people.

Intel LAN generally is just good, nothing to complain about. So you could see that as a plus, but I don't think it's that important to mention.

So, in my case, I would only need 2 SATA connections? One for my HDD and one for my SSD?

I'll won't take Intel Lan in to consideration then...

Now I'm thinking about the RGB in the parts I've picked. Will both motherboards have enough connections to hook up all the RGB? Or are the lights build in the components?

I feel like I'm really overthinking this. But I've been saving for quite some time now and I just want it to be 'perfect'. Like I said, it's going to be my first (and last for hopefully the next like 7 years) build.

Yep. And there is also M.2 SSD's, which wouldn't require a SATA connection at all.

You have not mentioned a full build, what RGB components are you planning to buy? There are different standards and thus different methods of hooking it all up.

Oh right, I actually am getting a M.2 SSD...

The rest of my build is;

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x

RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 2x8 GB DDR4-3600

HDD: Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB

SDD: Samsung 970 Evo 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME
GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER Gaming X Trio
Case: MasterCase H500
Supply: Corsair RM (2019) 750 W 80+ Gold

Are you talking about he RGB of the case?

The case comes with a little controller that has a button on it (that you can alternatively run to the reset switch) and using this controller's button/the reset button you can change the RGB effect.

So the rest of the components don't use any extra cables for the RGB effects? I don't need like 5 cables just to light up my RAM sticks?

Anyway, I think I'll go with the Elite

Thanks all!

Edit: Oh darn, i forgot to add the separate case fans I'm purchasing also, which is the Cooler Master MF120R ARGB 3in1 120mm

Yep, no additional RGB cables are requires. just the fans to the included hub (with its included splitter cable).

RAM and videocard RGB can be changed with software and don't have specific RGB cables.
