Posted March 13, 2020 I have an nzxt cooler and an nzxt hue 2 that both need to use an internal USB header on my motherboard and I only have 1 space left. I saw Linus merge 2 cables together on one of the builds and was wondering if its safe to do that in my case, and if there could be any problems. Thanks in advance. Also not sure if this is right place to post this i coudlnt find a better one. Not really. Most of the cables you see that have two USB ports on one end and one on the other aren't splitters. They're connecting to the USB bus twice to get two units of power that otherwise would be limited to one. The actual USB headers on the motherboard, actually have "two" USB ports per header. So read the manual and check what pins it's actually using. If it's just pulling from one of the +5V pin's from the header, then yes, you can technically connect two to the header. On the other hand, if it's using both to get more power in the first place, then no, you don't want to do that, you'll overload the USB bus and probably kill the USB port.
