Hi

I know this is a topic that probably have been discussed many times.

I was wondering if its worth the 15$ difference to get the Ryzen 5 3600x instead of the 3600 for gaming.

I saw on amazon that the 3600x is 195$ and the 3600 is 180$. I heard that the performance is really close but the cooler on the 3600x is better(I'm not planning on buying a separate cooler cause budget is tight)

Any ideas?

Sure get the 3600X, just note that the better stock cooler is still a stock cooler, dont expect anything amazing from it

I'm not planning to overclock it or anything.

Just doing casual gaming, do you think it's enough or?I indeed have heard that it could reach the 90C sometimes which sucks :/

I guess I could get an Artic freezer 34, I heard good reviews and its pretty cheap

Depends on case airflow, but I'd always recommend an aftermarket cooler (even if it's just a $25 one, it's not difficult to beat the stock cooler)

I was going for the Fractal design G, heard it has decent airflow what do you think about it? , I'm considering a separate cooler, they aren't that expensive

Focus G only comes with 2 fans right? Preferably add an extra fan for exhaust at the back

Yes only 2 fans, I'm planning on adding a fan in the back, they thought about that they made a spot for the fan it's great.

Thanks for the recommendations it's much appreciated!!!

I have a 3600X under a Dark Rock Pro4 cooler and it happily boosts to 4.2Gigerhertz. I do have a good board and my air flow is high but so long as you have these you should be good too.

OP has a tight budget, so a high end air cooler isn't going to be an option.

That's fine but even something like the Noctua NH-U12S or the be quiet! Dark Rock 4 would be worth it, its just not worth cheaping out on cooling, you have to spend some money to avoid losing performance, espicialy with 3rd gen Ryzen, it gets so fussy about heat and power regulation. You don't have to go to the high end.

What GPU will you use it with? BC if something like 5600xt-2060, I don't think you'd see much benefit from zen2, and can save up a shload of money with opting for 1600AF-2600x.. WITHOUT sacrificing too much performance

Life is really challenging. I don't always suceed: )

You can get the best air cooler on the market, it still ain't gonna matter that much if the case itself doesn't allow for good airflow to start with. What kind of case do you have? The size of the case and the placement and quality of its fans matters just as much as the cooler for your processers. I'd say you are wasting your money if the overall case design sucks kangaroo feces. Getting a dust filter would certainly help as well if it didn't come with one.

i would say if you keep the stock cooler, go with the 3600x, it should be enough if you don't overclock, you shouldn't get to 90 degrees unless you have a case with really bad airflow or the temperature in your room is 40+

if you're going for an extra cooler, I'd get the 3600 and an arctic freezer 34 esports duo.

The quality of his case design is basically what it all boils down to. If its a shit design, then I'd rather address that first and make sure it has a dust filter.

I will use it with either a 5600 xt or a 1660 super depending how it all ends up with my budget.

I think that it's really worth it to go for the 3600 instead of the older ones cause some games do really require high cpu usage , i dont wanna risk any bottlenecking

Games are very variant , I don't stick with games but mainly if i play single player games it will be something like Tomb Raider reboot series , Resident evil 2 remake and the one coming out.

Online I'm going to use it for very light usage games like CS:GO WoW.

monitor I haven't decided yet but i will opt for a budget 144hz monitor , if u got any suggestions would be appreciated!

That looks like a good choice. That dust filter will be the true life savor for sure.  Mines came with one as well. The fans being in the front is a plus as well, depending on how your desk is setup.??
