Hey guys, currently looking into building a pc and am torn on the case I should use.

Right now, the two cases in contention are the NZXT h510i (mostly for RGB reasons lol). And the Fractal design meshify C. Both are about 150$ CAD

Feel free to suggest any other comparable cases with a tempered glass side panel, and a psu shroud (hopefully cheaper than the other 2)

I got the Fractal design meshify S2 dark tempered glass and its amazing its a bit big sizewise but that made it easy to instally everything and also cable management was really easy. If you want max airflow i would go for the meshify (there is not that big of a difference) also note that with the meshify you get slightly more noise from the fans as the mesh does not really stop it.

Hey there, both the NZXT H510i and the Fractal Design Meshify C are solid case choices, especially if you care for aesthetics. Something to consider is that the NZXT H510i has 1 x USB 3.0 Type-A and 1 x USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C ports, while the Meshify C only has 2 x USB 3.0 Type A ports.

If you're still looking into other cases:

  • Phanteks Eclipse P400A ($119.99 on Amazon.ca): TG panel, 3 x RGB fans, PSU shroud, 2 x USB 3.0 ports.
  • Corsair iCUE 220T RGB Airflow ($129.99 on Amazon.ca): TG panel, 3 x RGB fans, PSU shroud, 2 x USB 3.0 ports.

How does the Phanteks P350x compare to those? It seems to be a it cheaper also.

The P350X will have "worse" airflow (not bad by any means but by the very definition of the Meshify C, P400A and 220T Airflow, they're hard to beat in that department) but slightly better build Quality IMO, as Phanteks did a good job with the P300 and P350x in making sure dollar per build quality were really high on these cases (similar to NZXT).

What's your system build? It's likely you dont need a Meshify C, P400A or 220T airflow unless you're building a high end high heat output system (9900k/2080ti), an enthusiast Overclocker, or really care about keeping temps under 70ºC at all times.

I don't know about the 350x but I have the P400S which is the same base model as the A. With optional extras you can fit 8 drives in it, which is not bad at all these days. The P400A has good airflow and cable management is pretty good. Fan controller and a bit of RGB, the Eclipse P400 series has a lot of features for it's price but I find it a little bit lacking in build quality.

This is my build currently https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/moha26/saved/#view=VJ8j23

Also this is kind of off topic, I was wondering if you guys could help me find a better mobo, because I don't like the RGB, but still want it to match my system asthetic

Ps. Getting a used 1080ti for my gpu

a 3600 would probably be okay in a H510 if you weren't overclocking it, but as a "used 1080ti" owner myself, you'll want good ventilation to get the most out of it, as the Pascal PercisionBoost boosts its clock speeds when the card is cooler, so cooler card really does mean it runs faster.

I have used ASrock in the past for RGB and it's........ limited.

Finally, let's talk about software and overclocking. If you care a LOT about RGB and wanna use motherboard software, stay away from AsRock. The fans came with a controller, but it would have added more clutter to the back of the case and our board supports 2 RGB and 1 ARGB header so I left it out. However their software is VERY limited in functionality, there's no true Rainbow mode (as much as I dislike it, she wanted it) and the closest you can get on regular RGB connectors is Wave mode. If you can, use the RGB controller or consider one of the other motherboard vendors for your RGB effect and needs.
