Best Budget RAM for R5 3600

- Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666MHz CL16 ($77)

- Gskill RipjawsV 3000MHz CL16 ($80)

- Team Force Dark Za Alpha 3600MHz CL18 ($86)

- Patriot Viper Elite RGB 3600MHz CL17 ($102)

P.S. They're all 16GB dual channel kit

My target is to hit at least 3200MHz CL14, or overclock the infinity fabric to 1800/1900MHz (if possible). Which ram should I get? 

 

My setup:

R5 3600

Deepcool Gammaxx 400 V2

ASRock B450 Pro 4

RX 5600XT

Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 550W

Why? That's a lot lower than what you can reach to get fabric clock to be half that of the memory clock.

Top 2 ones are pointless, 3600MHz 17-18-18-38 timings can be a gamble of Samsung B-die (not guaranteed) but otherwise, the two kits below are equal which means you get to decide whether to pay extra for RGB LEDs.

Because 3200 CL14 outperformed 3600 CL18 in most circumstances, based on LTT's and GN's testing. So I think 3200 CL14 is better?

Based on what I've read anywhere, Vengeance LPX and RipjawsV are good overclocker, so I include those, hoping that I could reach at least 3200 CL16 with those kit.

Only rated combinations of frequency and timings matter, not models. Peel away the heatsinks and RGB, theose with the same frequency and timings are the same.

3200 CL14 is better than 3600 CL18 does not mean you shouldnt tighten timings while running higher frequency, such as 3600 CL16. Besides 3600 CL18 kits tends to use dies that do better with high frequency looser timings than lower frequency really tight timings.

Patriot viper looks more likely to do cl14 3200mhz.  I would go with cl 18 3600mhz myself and just try to reduce cas to 16, should be easy with a bit of voltage.  3200mhz@1800mhz fclock is pointless if your ram can actually do 3600mhz.
