8-pin CPU cable won't fit into the motherboard

Hello

I was making my new ryzen setup, but I've noticed something odd about my PSU (Corsair RM850). The 8-pin CPU Cable won't fit into the one on my mother board (X570 Aorus Pro)

The cable and the slot looks different (cable is missing one Square pin). It looks like it will fit on the other side ot the cable, but that side is supposed to be going into the PSU.

My question is, what do I do now? Am I missing something?

Thanks for any answer

Yes, first one on the left is ATX_12V1, and the other one is ATX_12V

Hmmmm, I would expect them to say CPU.

In the motherboard layout, I don't see any connector that says "CPU". It seems to be possible to only put it into the 2x2 ATX_12V1

One of those should be a 8 pin, the other end is a 4+4 pin, meaning you could seperate them. The 4+4 end goes into the Motherboard, the unmodifiable 8 pin into the PSU.

No the cable for the PSU says CPU on it at the connector.

I checked your manual, it's this one:

That must go to CPU, not PSU

Try the other way around.

Yeah, but when you look at it, it only has one square part (bottom left)

Will it work just fine, if I only connect the ATX12_V1? The 2x2

Maybe you're trying to insert it upside-down. as the square is suppesed to be where it is.

Try it "upside down"

That's not the issue. Thing is, that my cable has one "square pin" less than the connector in the motherboard

I feel so dumb. Was having the same issue. The house shaped polygons will fit into square sockets guys. So while it appears to not match, try and it will fit fine. The end labeled CPU goes Into the 8pin atx socket. I promise it fits just try 🤣
