Front Panel Audio Connectors Not Fitting

I have an ROG Strix X570-I motherboard and an NZXT H210i. The front panel audio connector on the case seems to be bigger than the connector on the motherboard. Not sure what to do.

audio header should be standard.

I’ve tried, the width of the 5 pins on the connector is the width of 4 sockets on the cable. it just doesn’t work

is it a HD Audio connector?

If it is, you need a AC97 to HD audio converter.

Your motherboard seems to have AC97

That's what it looks like to me (HD audio/AC97 connector), normally the front panel connectors on every case I've ever worked with has them as a group of smaller sized connectors that are within the same wire loom.

The OP needs to see if they can trace them back to the power buttons, also they are normally labeled too, be sure to check that as well.

 

I also noticed it looks like one of the wires has been pushed back/up (one with the blue wire, far right) from attempts to get it onto the header. That will have to be pushed back down into the plug itself so it can go where it needs to and work.

There's a mini HD audio adapter in the box, it has a smaller head for the bigger HD audio plug.  It's in a clear plastic bag.
