Maximum RAM Speed Supported by Ryzen 5 2600

The maximum ram shown for ryzen 5 2600 in the specs list is 2993 Mhz but I hear people recommending 3600 Mhz for this processor. Why and will it work?

3600 is gonna be hard to hit with a 2600. I recommend 3200 or 3000.

 

2933 is the official max but overclocking or using XMP will be able to override this.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Faster RAM = better performance, to an extent.

Running MSi X470 Gaming Pro with Ryzen 5 2600 and 4*G Skill F4-3200C16-8GVKB. This system started with 2*G Skill F4-3200C16-8GVKB and ran at 3200MHz with no issues. Funny part is that when I added another 16GB, totalling 32 the system won't accept above 2933MHz which is the highest my CPU can run. So the question is why 16GB runs at 3200MHz and not the 32GBs
