compatibility of different switches/keycaps

SooWhat

Basically, how compatible are keycaps and switches from different manufacturers.

I´m considering getting a keyboard with Kailh Browns, but I also want to get some pudding keycaps.

The only ones I found locally were:

HyperX Double Shot PBT Keycaps

Glorious PC Gaming Race Aura Mechanical Keycaps

They don´t state which switches they fit (I´m assuming they are meant for Cherry Mx´s), so I´m questioning whether or not they would fit Kailh Browns or not.

Is there like a gold standard or should they fit?

These are both for Cherry MX-style keycaps, which the Kailh keyswitches are (technically not all Kailh.. But most, including yours will be compatible).

Whether it will fully work with your board depends on the bottom row of your keyboard. Take a look at Ctrl, Windows, Alt, Space, etc.

Are Ctrl, Windows, Alt and function keycaps the same size as each other? Are they slightly wider than a normal (letter) keycaps? Most keycaps are '1u', 1 unit wide. The Ctrl, alt, etc. should be 1.25u wide, meaning a keycap + a quarter keycap wide.

If all those are 1.25u, your spacebar will be 6.25u wide. That is the default and will be compatible with both these sets.

It will likely work, just double check the keycap widths on the bottom row.
