Struggling with 24 pin power cable?

Do you think there needs to be an easier way to unplug a 24 pin motherboard power plug or am I just an idiot?

 

I'm trying everything! Help!

Most, even when pressing the locking tab, are a bear to pull out.  Use a bit more strength.

They're a pain to pull out simply because there are so many pins and so much friction. Try tilting in side-to-side (on the long end), that's how I typically get mine out.

That is the part i hate the most when changing or just plainly removing the pc from the case. That frking 24 pin reduces my lifespan due to the fear that i might actually break the board, trying to remove that.

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

Yes, these can be a biatch to losen.

 

Disclaimer: the following is at own risk if attempted.

 

Ive used small screwdrivers more then once; where the connector hits the "slot" to wiggle em lose; usually on the ends/short sides is easiest. Takes care and patience but with a sharp enough blade it doesnt take too much force and once inbetween a little turn the blade 90 degrees to get a start. Remember to open the locking tab at same time or it will snap. Carefullness needed not to shoot away with it, scratching traces or knocking off caps.

 

Just dont yank it by the cables :)
