for a sec i thought it was Australian $, but no. its US.

in other words, its not good. and considering the component selection, its not good. and never has been good. even for overclocking purposes.

It is good that you have picked up PC-building as a hobby. You should keep developing it.

With that said, that build is not very viable.

First, that is not even close to cheap. And those parts for that price are bad value.

Second, the 1050 is not worth overclocking (or even buying in 2020).

Third, why side with Intel? Ryzen is the go-to choice for best value.

@Plouffe has the right idea.

Don't get discouraged from this btw, everyone makes mistakes. I'm sure your next recommended build will feature better parts.

EDIT: I just saw your upgraded build, and it is much better. Yes, that one works.

also very expencive for what you are getting.

not a great overclocking chip, if you are getting something for overclocking, then there are better options.

only 8gb. and afaik, not dies that are good to overclock.

if you want something just to have fun overclocking and doing very high clockspeeds on chips never meant for it. here you go.

Ram is known to do high speeds, so you can overclock that aswell, however the memmory controller will be limiting.

and if you are getting something for gaming, then look at something else. because if you are overclocking for fun, then you know what you want to overclock.

otherwise, overclocking is kinda "eh" in terms of performance gains today outside of memmory overclocking.

you could toss this in instead

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8HqBD3/amd-ryzen-5-1600-12nm-32-ghz-6-core-processor-yd1600bbafbox

and 650 watts is a ton, you could opt for 450 instead and still have a lot of room to upgrade

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

@mscrafter2003I wont use an APU if I have a graphics card that's for sure

i am very well aware.

the point with the build is being a cheap overclocking build with essentially a disposable CPU.

the entire purpose is for it to be tinkered with, not that its especially good at high clockspeeds.
