I think I bought a motherboard CPU combo from someone that followed verge build guide

And it's dead no more power to the ram slots by the look of it wtf?!?

So I bought a Mobo and CPU... Sight unseen... I know I know not wise but so far I have had luck and it was a good price and i took photos after cleaning a bit but this thing was plastered in TIM.

 

Here is what I'm working on.... 

 

I found more TIM in the DDR4 sockets 

 

Photo doesn't do it justice will show more photos when done

You can clean it out easily with a can of contact cleaner, same with the RAM slots.

Head to an autoparts store such as 'O Rileys, grab a can of CRC contact cleaner and hit it with that. Do not get anything that's not made for cleaning electronics like brake cleaner for example.

That's the bottom of the cpu...the photos don't look so bad and there was TIM everywhere on the 24 pin header on the heatsinks on random chips.

That's what I'd do here.

I like that idea it's looking better now with the ol' soft paint brush and isopropyl

 

You can see where it was hit but all the pins are clean to the base
