UNRAID only stating 4TB total size

I am currently setting up my server with UNRAID and creating an array right now.

 

I have 4x 4TB Seagate EXOS Drives installed. With a single parity drive they should add up to 12TB total size. but on the array operation it shows that total size is 4TB. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

 

below are the specs and attached screenshot of the main page i am talking about.

Ryzen 3000G

Asrock B450 Steel Legend

2x8GB Corsair Vengeance RGB 3000MHz C15

4x Seagate Exos 4TB

1x Samsung 840 EVO (old ssd i had lying around which i plan to use for cache)

Sure looks like a parity sync is running that is correct that is the size of your parity drive

If you see under array total under size, it says 12 TB there.

 

What you see longer down with total size under array operation is the total size of the parity building, and because parity drive is 4TB it says 4TB there. Like it's 4 TB of "lines" where there is 1 bit from the parity and 1 bit from each of the other drives it has to compare and build.

 

There isn't anything wrong.

Just wait untill the parity building is done and you will see.

yup a parity sync is running so i assume what you are saying is that that is just my parity size?

It says 12 tb the row that says "array of 4 devices"

alright got it! first time working with unraid so i was puzzled when i saw it. but thanks for clarifying!
