Hi guys!

I was reading Reddit /r/AskReddit and there was a thread about the scariest thing you've ever experienced, there where a lot of sleep paralysis stories..

I recognized myself in this, i had this when i was younger but didn't know it was a thing.

I haven't had it in a loong time but now i'm scared shitless that it wil happen again! I keep thinking about it and it just freaks me out even more!

I've tried /r/aww but didn't help!

What should i do to get it of my mind and not let this happen again?

Thanks!

(What is your sleep paralysis story?)

You could start by never reading Sleep Paralysis stories.

I've never experienced it. I'm fine with being unable to move, interestingly.

Watch a TV show. Preferably one you love or like a lot. Something to dive into and forget everything else. I use Anime for this.

You're welcome. If you find you don't like it, I have a lot I could recommend (depending on your preferences). Just send a PM if you are interested or whatever.

And about that demon thing, that does sound a bit creepy. But I'm not afraid of demons. Nothing short of zombies make me afraid. I don't know why.

I've never feared anything to do with my soul. It's my body and being eaten alive that scares me I suppose. Or being unable to stop something that is trying to do it.

Like, some zombies are "shoot in the head to kill" kind of zombies. Then there's the day of the dead zombies. Screw that.

Click dem spoilers, its kind of scary imo

Had a dream (Or whatever) about me seeing my self sleeping. Went to the living room, called my mum. After that, the cats got scared, I was like "These cats are always weird" then I went to the washroom and one of my siblings seemed to have gotten possessed by a demon or something and then I was being held on the door by the neck and was being screamed at. I was thinking I need to get to my room, next thing I know, I blacked out and I felt myself coming to in my bed in life but I couldn't open my eyes or move.

I only slept for an hour and I stayed up for about another 16 hours after that.

I've experienced it a couple of times, also lately, with the "horrifying visions" of room intruders and all that, but honestly I don't find it that scary. In reality it lasts like 3-4 seconds for me and then I wake up completely fine (and sane). I guess I've just learned to mostly ignore it. Truth be told it does get my heart racing though, but that in itself is a pretty innocent side effect.

(un)lucky you!  I have no problem with a zombie outbreak because i'll just take my life. :) F those things! I don't gave them to honor to kill me! HA!

I've never watched The Day of the Dead Zombies, i've watched some others to and not scary at al!

This sounds like a good ol' nightmare. You can help yourself in most of these situations as you will typically realize that you are dreaming. Once you have come to this conclusion you can usually change the dreams to your desire and actually have a good time instead of being absolutely horrified. Look up lucid dreaming, I find it quite enjoyable. I've been able to turn nightmares around for the most of my life, however it was lately made popular by the movie Inception.

Oh that is really awesome, i've heard of lucid dreaming but this sounds weid, i don't "experience" the dream, i wake up and then i'm just like 'wow'.. So that is going to be a challenge :P

There's a lot more to it than not being able to move though.

I think I might've experienced sleep paralysis. I woke up in bed laying on my side and kept hearing a really strange voice behind me, but I was too afraid to turn over (or maybe I was unable to move).

Right! Its not that bad, when you get it try  and wiggle your toes (That does something right?) to wake ye body up. There isn't anything bad that can happen but its kind of disturbing

Well if you believe in some religious beliefs you can say that this wasn't a dream at all.

Its confusing. Herp derp

The first couple of times it's generally easier to do with nightmares you've experienced before (I think it's safe to say that we've all experienced some dreams more than once), as you will pretty quickly determine that it's a dream and not reality (seeing as you've experienced exactly the same thing before). This is also how I first discovered that I could do it. After having the same dream like 4 times (a dream I was scared shitless of as well) I tried to abstract from it by thinking about something else and this changed the course of the dream entirely and turned it into something good instead. Once you master it it can be incredibly fun. :D
