Fun things to do with my server?

Hi guys, ive had my server for a while now (specs listed below). My school was kind enough to donate it to me for free! Ive been running some minecraft servers on it but i want to do more

Any of you guys have some fun ideas / programs to run on it? like a gameserver or web html5 games, im currently working on getting a vpn to my home

 

And any tutorials to have multiple minecraft servers running while still maintaining good tps?

 

Specs:

Dell PowerEdge r610

2x E5530 CPU

48gb ECC 1000mhz Ram

750gb storage (3 drives)

2 PSU 

8 total network ports (1 card installed)

And all the things you would usually get on a enterprise server from Dell

I would imagine those CPU's aren't good for more than 4-5 players at a time for TPS or am I mistaken? Not sure of any differences between Windows VS Linux for that either.

 

Those have 4x1gb NIC onboard so you could launch a VM on it and run pfSense to learn more about firewalls/routers.

I would look into installing a hypervisor like PROXMOX. You could setup a network share for storing files. I have tutorials on both if you're interested.
