Are Ultrawide Monitors (2560x1080) good for gaming?

Hello for all

I'm buying the LG 34UC79G-B (34") UltraWide gaming monitor 2560x1080 144hz/1ms

Can i take more than +100fps in Fortnite , CS:GO,  PUBG, FORZA HORIZON 4 with medium/high (costum) graphics with those specs?

I5-8400

RAM 16GB GDDR4

GPU RX 5700 XT 8GB

2TB HDD

128GB SSD.

Etc...etc...

Programming? Developers tend to prefer using it portrait, not in the conventional landscape.

Really wonna get one myself. Seems they are quite behind regular gaming monitors though. Was hoping for a high refresh rate ultra wide 1080.

Pixels become wayyyyyyy too visible at that size. Personally, even 27 inches 1080p for my eyes is pain.

I'm running 2560X1080 and I'm sorry but I completely disagree. Unless your face is about 2 inches away from the screen, you aren't seeing the pixels. At the distance a normal human sits away from the screen 1080p ultrawides are great.

People must be confusing ultra wide with just wide. They aren’t stretched at all.

My LG 34" Ultrawide has a 166Hz refresh rate. Is that not high enough for you? ?

Link goes to a 144hz 5ms response. And no what wouldn’t be what I’d want at all.

If I were to go to one with a 5ms response Im sure theres a 200hz option out there.

Yeah, a Sceptre. The tradeoff is tons of backlight bleed. Personally, I'll give up the 36Hz for a much better overall experience.

I’d take my chances or just keep my standard ratio 240hz.

It will be very pixelated at that size. 34" needs 3440x1440 resolution or higher.
