Will the MSI b450 Tomahawk Max support GTX 1660 Super OC?

parotia

Like in the title, I’m wondering if this gpu will be supported by the mobo? I got a bit scared that the gpu is not listed on the qvl list on the MSI website. There is only a normal 1660 and 1660 Ti, but not 1660 Super OC.

Does anyobody have experience with this combination?

The QVL is a list of devices the motherboard vendor has specifically tested, but not an exhaustive list of every piece of hardware out there.

I wouldn't worry about it at all. the board has PCIE 3.0 16x, the videocard does too. I have never thus far had a board + videocard combo not work (unless we're talking HP prebuilts who might lock it out.. Don't worry about that..)

In short; assuming all your other parts are compatible (mainly the case for the size and the PSU for connectors/quality/wattage) it will work!
