Need help finding coolers for dual socket board.

Go to solution Solved by humaintenance,

If anyone is interested to know, I managed to get my 2 Noctua NH-D9DX-i4-3u's seated. I had to slot/interweave the fins together outside of the case and then lower and fit them sorta as "one" heatsink.

Hey all,

I have the following mobo: ASUS-Z9NR-D12
CPU's: E5-2470-V2

I'm struggling to find two CPU coolers that will fit in such close proximity to each other and to the DIMM slots.

I have tried fitting my 2 Noctua NH-D9DX-i4-3u's, but the fins of the heatsink overhang into each other.
I have also tried my two Dell-T420-Heaksinks, but the base of the heatsink overhang...

At the moment, I have 1 of the Noctua's fitted, and 1 of the T420 heatsinks, with the Noctua exhausting into the Dell... less than ideal.

The height of the coolers is not really as issue as my case is 4u, it's just the width that I'm struggling with.

Does anyone have any suggestions for coolers that would fit?

The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO is almost be the width of the socket itself so it should fit. To be sure you could try and measure the socket size.

Please mention or quote me if you want a response. :)

Thanks for the suggestion, I shall check this out.
Will also measure the socket size when I get home from Work.

Unfortunately my case doesn't have anywhere to mount radiators, not even a 120 rad.

could mod the case, maybe it wont be pretty but since you want to keep old hardware, why not :D

Tis certainly a thought to consider, but I can't think of how I would do that without bolting it to the lid of the case (it's fairly crammed for space as it it).

Will keep this as a last resort though ?
