Microsoft will charge you $24.99/£19.99 for the option to use your own chat headset with the Xbox One, thanks to the console's proprietary headset port and the new stereo headset adapter.

The adapter has its own volume controls and will allow users to adjust the levels of both chat and game audio, but the adapter does not allow for output of game audio to any headsets themselves--your favourite Astro/Turtle Beach/Tritton/etc headset will still need to be plugged into the Xbox One, TV, or receiver to get game audio. Both 3.5mm and 2.5mm jacks are supported.

 

Additionally, Microsoft will also release its own stereo headset in March that comes with an adapter included. This will retail for $79.99/£59.99.

Well if only i could use my Turtle Beach X12s can't hook them up to my xbox one (Don't hate on me, it was a present and I didn't even ask for it) because it has analog audio inputs

that thing looks like is going to break pretty easy, also they went full retard whit a proprietary connector, this shit was suppose to be gone since the 360 and ps3 were launched, none of them required proprietary anything except for analog outputs which can be understandable but beyond that it doesn't even make sense

I used the stock 360 one, they were cheap and as long as i wasnt wearing it for 12 hours straight i was fine

Haha, yeah. I have a few friends that play and we all play together.

It really isn't that much money for the hours of entertainment it provides.

I haven't played mine in a while either, there haven't been any good games worth playing. There's a few coming out I want for the One though, so I bought it.
