On the cpu side of things Intel has broadwell coming in 2014 or maybe 2015 so I was wondering what is AMD gonna do. Will they have 28nm steamroller based 4-8 core cpus to replace the current fx series of cpus or are they gonna start focusing on the next generation of APUs.

and on the GPU side what is gonna be their new architecture because we know Nvidia is gonna have Maxwell out sometime this year with the gtx 800 series.

When did they said that? I've read that they've delayed Excavator and Steamroller for a while to focus on APUs, but I never read that they're stopping the whole thing altogether.

AMD have said they are killing AM3+ and producing only APU's for now (we will see how long this lasts)

and the next AMD GPU architecture is code named Pirates Islands and is going to be 20nm (most likely called R9 and R7 3XX)

man that sucks unless the apu can help out the gpu even if the gpu is way stronger than the apu's gpu. So it would be like the a10 7850k paired a r9 290x and whatever the apu can't handle is just sent to the gpu to handle

Something interesting to consider.

It is completely possible that an update 8+ core FX CPU could come down the pipeline.

I believe that AMD has 1 last trick left for the AM3+. Some time ago someone from AMD mentioned a "Few" things coming for the FX lineup. I think he was referring to the FX-9000 series plus something else.

Hoping for a 16 core(8 module) enthusiasts processor. A 12 core would be fine too.

I would really like an increase of single core performance by at least 20% or more on the AM3+ socket.

I hope AMD makes an 8 core with vbery strong cores, this means better IPC and better single threaded performance with less tdp compared to the Bulldozer and pildriver line. May be a GPU on board would be cool.
