The number of monitors aren't the issue. It depends on what you want to do with it. If it is to play Fortnite and Minecraft, then you can do much cheaper than this

The Daily Driver:
AMD Ryzen 7 3700x  |  EVGA GTX 1070 SC  |  48GB Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4-3600  | Corsair 750D Case
AsRock X570 Pro 4 mobo

iRacing Sim Rig:

i5-10600k @ 5.0 GHz  |  EVGA GTX 1080ti Hybrid  | 32GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600  |  Corsair Air 540 Case
ASUS Z490-E ROG Strix mobo

Eh personally the build looks off to me.

  • Why don't you get a 2TB NVME instead of two drives? Costs less as well.
  • Just spend a little more and get a motherboard with build in wireless. Or, a better wireless adapter, that one is trash.
On top of this, you need a good router. The adapter is useless without a solid router.
  • It's better to get a complete set (8gbx4) of RAM, instead of two sets.

Go for DDR4 3200 and 2 Sticks instead of 4 - the system is made for dual channel, not for quad!

Ditch Asus as a motherboard option for now, its false advertisement with claiming to have 8 phase VRM (it does in fact has double component 4 phase which has little to no benefits over single component 4 phase) is pure marketing BS and should be treated as it is - a 4 phase VRM which on paper can handle the 9900k fine, but might be troublesome if put under a lot of stress as the time goes on. No one wants to have a bad surprise after 3-4 years.

Would this pc be overkill for my 2 monitor setup?

For editing, it would be great, but if you are mostly gaming, a 9900k is overkill. I would personally go with a ryzen 3800x, which is comparable / maybe even better for editing, while freeing up some cash for a better graphics card for gaming. Not to mention AMD has really closed the gap for gaming performance. Also, the rog AIO coolers are unnecessarily expensive. They look great, but there are much cheaper options.

PC:

i5 8400 - RTX 2060 - Strix B360-I - Thermaltake 240mm AIO - 16GB Vengeance RGB PRO - CRYSTAL 280X - HD Plex 400w AC/DC Converter

CUSTOM KEYBOARD:

Gmmk Pro  - Gateron ink Black v2 lubed and filmed - GMK Red Samurai - PC plate - Zeal stabs

DAILY TECH:

Samsung Gear s3 Frontier Smartwatch - Galaxy A70 - Bose QC Earbuds - Bose SoundLink Wireless - Ultimate Ears Wonderboom

No, it would be good (unless your having 2x 2k or 4k monitors) ???? , and i can see a few places you could chose differently. for that CPU and GPU etc i would for sure go with a 750W Gold or platinum PSU (minimum 750)

don't bother with the Samsung 860 Evo SSD (it most likely Sata 3) you are better putting a little more into another nvme M.2 drive. (get one 500GB for windows and word files etc, and a 1TB drive for steam / games. or 2TB if you have a lot of games and files.

nowadays its all about cable-less design, faster interface, direct to m/board connection.

or even you can get a pci-e X4 card that has SSD or nvme SSD on it. saves cables.

for WIFI, i am sure there is that motherboard with WiFi onboard. (worth checking)

memory is cheap right now, go for 3200 or 3600mhz kit approved by the Asus approved memory list on there website for the particular m/board you choose.

apart from that, all other choices are really nice.

you can also consider M-ATX if only using one GPU, but if you want to space for extra pci-e cards then ATX gives more room.
