Seeing as the 980 Ti uses around 250W on its own, not knowing your full system, a great quality 400W would not even be recommended, but would work.

A 400W PSU where you don't even have a 6 pin and have to use molex? That's a solid 'NO!!!' from me.

 

Get a new good quality 500W+ PSU.

Even if it was a really high quality unit, 400W probably wouldn't be enough for a full system with a 980Ti, but since you mentioned Molex to PCI-E adaptors, I'd assume it's a pretty cheap unit anyway.

So basically, you'll need to buy a new PSU. Go for at least something like a Corsair CX550M, if you don't want to spend a whole lot of money. For other options, check the forum's PSU tier list here.
