Not gna read 2.6k comments on a near 5 year old vid (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7sIgBpe6Co), but here's a solution to your breaking wires on just about anything.

Time consuming but my wife has done it for all of her POS iphone cords and has saved us quite a bit of $ not having to replace those anymore.

a spring from ball pens will do

I can confirm.  I’ve done that one.  There was a big lawsuit over this with Apple some years ago.  Apple designed a functional cord strain reducer and then the manufacturer cheated out and made one that merely looked very similar and pocketed the difference.  There were vast numbers of broken cords and Apple sued.

It used to be all cord strain reducers were springs, but they can wear the cable and they’re metal so after 20 years or so they can cause a short.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

I just use USB cables with magnetic tips... the cables can't be strained as they simply disconnect.
