Computer shuts off during semi-intensive workloads.

ShadowlessFear

Basically the title. I just upgraded my mobo, ram and CPU and now my PC commits epstein doing almost anything even semi-intensive. I don't think it's a thermal problem as it happens very quickly. Using CPU-Z's bench tool, my PC will shutdown within a second of hitting the bench button; black screen, no error message or anything. Originally I thought my ram was faulty but the problem persists even when the speed is set to 2133 mhz, and I'd expect an error message of some kind.

Is this the behavior of an inadequate PSU? And if not what could it be? I've had the same EVGA 500w white PSU for about two years now and it's about time to switch it out anyway(I know it's a D-tier PSU, I wasn't quite sure what I was doing when I first built this PC). My specs are listed below.

RTX 2060

Ryzen 7 2700x

x570 MSI Gaming Edge Wi-fi

2x8 DDR4 3400

EVGA 500w 80+ White PSU

I'm really confused about the PSU right now. Its either EVGA G3 550W which is high end PSU, or EVGA 500W 80+ White which is garbage.

And since your PSU simply powers off when you hit a load, then I would guess its 2nd option.

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus ROG Strix B650E / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Powercolor RX 7900 XTX Red Devil/ EVGA 750W GQ / NZXT H5 Flow

Apologies, just built a system for my friend with the G3 and switched them in my head. Anyway, I have the white which I'm aware is absolute garbage and potentially dangerous but it's been working fine for a minute now. I'm planning on switching it out anyway like I said, but just want to make sure the problem is confined to the power supply and not anything else.

If your PC shuts down for no reason (e.g overheating), then its most likely a PSU.
