Are reference RTX Super cards good?

mattdmg

I can't decide what RTX 2070 Super to go with. Are the reference cards quiet and cool? Or should I go for a 3 fan card from like Gigabyte?

I would go with an aftermarket card since they usually have higher boost clocks and better temps/acoustics.

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus ROG Strix B650E / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Powercolor RX 7900 XTX Red Devil/ EVGA 750W GQ / NZXT H5 Flow

Any of the aftermarket ones are decent, quieter and cooler than the FE. Unless you value the looks, there's really no point in it.

3 fans card allows your rig to run with less noise. Now if you do overclock the crap out of it, you’ll have to change the fan curve to something more aggressive. Then there’s nothing you can do to tame the noise (aside from an open loop with 2 rads).
