Headphones Showing Up In Realtek As Working But No Sound

PCFlegling

My headphones are showing up in Realtek as working but even when I unplug them the check mark is still there which makes no sense. The sound does not work with the front panel. Please help. I'm so tired of troubleshooting this.

Do you have them selected over your speaker icon in the lower right corner?

Have you tried connected them directly to the motherboard?

Well, compare the wiring diagram for your board's front audio header vs. the one for your case's pin layout. If they don't match, which from what you're describing it doesn't sound like they do, then that's your problem.

Do you have another device that you can plug your headphones into to ensure that the headphones themselves are not malfunctioning? After you ensure that the headphones themselves work, I would try uninstalling realtek and then re-plugging your headphones. I personally don't use any audio drivers other than whatever windows has

There are two types of front audio header AC97 and HDaudio, Whilst it could be something else it really sounds like your case is not compatible with the motherboard.

Fixed it I just unplugged and replugged the audio cable on the motherboard and then ran the sound test and it worked
