Asus x570 turn gaming + wifi motherboard please help

Vance44

So as I'm putting in My aces tough motherboard... And realized I ran into this... On the Intel board I took out of here those were all plugged in... Doesn't matter which which ones or which side I plug it into?

I looked at the manual then it came with it did not specify?

You need to plug in the 8-pin one, that's mandatory. the second 4-pin is optional.

Edit:

The 8-pin on the right must be fully populated by the 8-pin EPS

So then I have it plugged in wrong they both need to be moved over to the 8-pin and the 4 th be left unplugged ?

This is all I have two four-pin connectors That's why I'm confused? Lol The book does mention one four-pin connector but I don't have one of those This is all I have...

So I should move both of those four pin connectors over to the right into the eight pin slot like this and keep the one to the far left four pin unconnected?

Well obviously I don't have another fort bend am I supposed to?

Yah, the 4 pin on the left is optional but the 8 pin is needed

The 8 pin is known as 4+4 as well and can be combined to an 8pin (your use case) or split if you only have a single 4 pin on lower end boards

The pictures you've shown now are correct :)

You need only 8 pin cpu power for 8 core and below

8 pin + 4 pin cpu power for 12 core and above and oc them

So I'm upgrading to 12 core 3900x

That means I need another 4 pin?

-snip-

Which part do you need help with?

The two LEDs are the only one that matter with regards to polarity

The triangle on the front panel wire is the positive wire

Speaker is optional but should have come with the case (I can't remember which part it comes with these days)

Only if you plan to do some super heavy overclocks, think LN2 or super high end water cooling.

It can help with stability in some cases but in most cases isn't needed.

From what I heard, the additional 4 pin cpu power is for 12 core and above. You don't need 8+4 cpu power for 8 core and below.

I think I see where everything plugs in I just don't see where the negative power plugs in?

Even a moderate sane overclock won't have a need for it. I should have said high end chilled water cooling (ice stuff like Jay and GN did) :)

If you have a ton of stability issues you might need to look into it but if you're not pushing too far you're fine.

Crap so I shouldn't turn this thing on without it?

It goes next to it, on the right side of where the positive pin goes in

It's mostly stability beyond a certain point, the 8 pin can delivery 250 (or maybe 350 I forget) watts by itself which is good for most situations.

So what do you think I should get another four pin?

Or just turn it on and try it it either works or it don't right?

Will it hurt it?

It won't hurt anything and will work just fine.

I wouldn't worry about it if you don't have any stability issues.

What will be the signs of that?

If I do have stability issues I'm definitely going to need that fourth pin?

It doesn't look like I have a choice but to try it and if there's stability issues I'm going to have to buy a whole nother power supply because it looks like this one has everything built or pre-installed into it I can't add anything to it

Yah, if you start getting random crashes then I would invest in a new PSU

Super bummer!! I guess I'll try it and see what happens

I have a 600 watt power supply now anything like this that will give me the option to add a few more cables will work 650 or anything more than that should be more than enough?

Do most of them usually come with extra cables or do you have to buy more?
