Asus Maximus XI Hero

i9-9900k

Corsair RM850x

Fresh build. Hit power button and the system turns on then immediately off. Unplug CPU power cables, 8 pin and 4 pin, the system stays powered on but obviously can't do anything with CPU power.

Tried different psu cables and verified connections. Reseated CPU, checked for socket damage. No luck.

Still debugging, hoping someone here has some ideas.

Thank you in advance.

Mike

Try clean that area as best you can with something like isopropyl alcohol. Also check the socket for any irregularities on the pins.

I also noticed what seems to be a missing capacitor on the CPU. If you look closely on the left of the image you can see bare solder where a capacitor would usually be.

Thank you for the replies.
