Is it okay to leave a Jumped PSU attached to a Motherboard?

I want to setup a small power efficient NAS using a raspberry pi and some HDD's.

What I'd like to do is set this up inside my PC case, and use the spare power from my PSU to power the disks and Raspberry Pi, however I want to be able to have my power hungry PC off while the NAS remains running.
By jumping the PS-ON signal on the 24Pin connector, I can ensure the PSU remains on, however I'm not sure the consequences of the motherboard not being able to stop receiving power. From testing some of the LED's remain on but there doesn't seem to be any other signs of life.

Are there any issues with taking this approach?

You'll have to unplug the 24pin connector, not sure you can do that daily without damaging something ...

There's no issue to fully cut off power to the board, it's like when you shut the PSU off

If a PC is connected to said PSU, it will be turned on. Not sure what the question here is.
