Is the PS4 GPU better than mine?

Gamer Schnitzel

I have a GTX 1080 and just googled the PS4 GPU.

It has 800Mhz core clock which is like half of what I have in my GPU but the mem clock is 5500 and mine has only 5000.

Is it better or worse than my GPU?

Half core clock but slightly better memory clock

Hmmm?

/S

Consoles are comparable to low end PCs, not something high end like your 1080. Clock speeds mean very little as well, it's not a GTX 1080 at 800 MHz, it's a custom GPU designed for low power at 800 MHz

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

The GTX 1080 would be better than the ps4 gpu because it is a more powerful gpu and consoles are compared to low end pcs and the GTX 1080 is high end

consoles have weaker gpu, but they're uniform between all the millions of devices, and that lets developers get dozens of times more efficiency from it. memory on ps4 is also shared as regular ram as well, so don't forget that.

When the PS4 came out I remember people comparing it to an R7 260X, which is a budget GPU from 2013.

A GT 1030 is better, in terms of raw performance. Specs don't matter when were talking about such a different device.

A golf cart has double the amount of wheels when you compare it to *insert high end motorcycle here*, but you wouldn't say it is twice as good. There is more to a GPU other than the raw specs.

The original PS4 is aimed for 30-60 fps 1080p, so it should be the same as gtx 1030 - 1050 performance.

The pro is 30fps 4K around RX580 / 1060 performance.

Bare in mind that consoles have better optimization.
