ping rates on different servers

Hello linus tech tips forum this is my issue

i like to play fortnite with friends on na east my home server is europe is there any way for me to play with low ping on other servers maybe with a vpn

No, not really. Your ping is high because you're physically far away and require multiple hops to get to the game server, a VPN wouldn't change that.

VPN won't lower your ping, the further the server is away and the more hops the higher your ping and there is only so much you can do to lower it.

If anything a VPN would add more latency. Your only real option would be to physically move closer to your friends.

Two options:

1. Just live with it

2. Move to US or get your friends to move to Europe
