RX 5700 vs RTX 2060

Naxedboss

I'm thinking about getting a new PC build and I wanted to ask you guys which graphics card should I get. I'm planning on getting a Ryzen 5 3600 as well.

I've seen some benchmarks and the RX seems to have higher FPS (not many more tbh) and I wonder if Ray Tracing is really worth it.

The RX 5700 - from my own research - is quite a bit better than the RTX 2060 and more comparable in performance to the RTX 2060 Super. The 2060S is usually a bit more expensive than the 2060 (non Super).

From my research:

2060 > 5700 > 2060S = 2070 > 5700XT > 2070S

But that might depend on the game you play. This is performance with 3 games (BFV, Codemaster F1 2019 and the Witcher 3) and 2 benchmarks (TimeSpy and FireStrike Ultra).

From what I have seen it's not really that interesting on cards that are not a 2080S or 2080 Ti, since you will cripple the fps.

The compute power of the RTX is pretty cool though!

2060 < 5700 <= 2060S < 2070  <= 5700XT <= 2070S.

Meaning the 2060 is weaker than 5700 which is weaker to equal to 2060S which is weaker than 2070 which is weaker or equal to 5700XT which is weaker or equal to 2070S.

Weaker or equal means it's in some titles weaker and in some equal or better.
