Hello guys.

I am going to need a school pc in about half a year, i am already making consedarations on what to buy. I looked at the Macbook Pro 13 inch Retina. Is it any good as school computer? Will i get the Mac-vibe and never buy windows again?

How many of u guys use mac as school computer and has a windows gaming computer? Im really bad at making decisions so i appreciate any help :D

If no to Mac can u guys give me some suggestions on windows laptops for school? preferrably 13 inch.

This. Loving my MBP Retina, using it for school work and editing photos etc. As Coen said it's reliable, light and has great battery life. On top of that the screen is absolutely amazing.

Get a lenovo yoga 2 pro, 4k screen is much better than retina, and it is cheaper for similar specs on the macbook. Plus, it can become a tablet.

You need to consider if yiou need to use any special software for you schoolwork. Then you need to check what platform that software is available on.

If you want a Windows alternative to the Macbook, try looking at some Ultrabooks (As already mentioned by people in this thread). The Macbook is a good choice for a school computer.

Does your school use either?

Not sure about now but back in the day there were programs that a lot of schools use, and require you to use, that weren't available on the Mac.

I wouldn't get a Mac because I don't like Apple, but they're sexy machines, and do get good battery life.

They have a high resolution display though you can find similar displays on Ultrabooks as well.

The Lenovo Yoga 2 might be worth a look at. Way more pixels than the Retina display. I think it's also smaller than the Macbook Air.

I have a 15" MacBook Pro (old model) and I was using it for school work. The portability is great, but my subjects required a lot of books still which made my bag so heavy, so I stopped using it for school and got an iPad. Now the Mac sits on my desk at home and I just use it for games. I now desperately want a gaming PC because only recently have I learned that they are AEWSOME!
