VGA monitor not working properly with my new Ryzen 3 2200g

Hello,

I have just finished building my first PC Ryzen 3 2200G with no other eGPU than it's interrogated VEGA 8. I have also got a new 19" monitor which is VGA-only.

Unfortunately for some reason the PC won't output anything on the monitor correctly/wrong resolution. My GIGABYTE A320-S2H motherboard does has a D-Input/VGA. It would boot up with all wrong resolution then after the Windows 10 loading boot animation (also in wrong resolution) it would stay on black screen. Tried going on Low-res mode and safe mode, nothing worked.

Just to make sure I have plugged the PC to my 40" Samsung TV using HDMI and it works flawlessly with BIOS correctly scaled and Windows booting up and reaching desktop correctly.

I had installed all required driver and that didn't made it work at all. Resetted the PC back to fresh Windows 10 and still no solution.

Anyone can help me with this frustrating issue? Huge thanks!

Specifications:

AMD Ryzen 3 2200G (No OC)

Ramsta 8GB DDR4-2666MHz

Gigabyte GA-A320M-S2H Rev 1.1

WD Blue 500GB HDD

Windows 10 x64

Hello,

Maybe try updating the bios?

Or plug it back into the hdmi monitor, and set it to like some super low resolution so it tries that over VGA.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

If you don't mind, can you instruct me on which BIOS version to update to?

I currently have Raven Ridge APU and F32 BIOS version.  Here's the Motherboard website: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-A320M-S2H-rev-1x/support#support-dl-bios

Sorry, new to these things. Much appreciated.

I probably wouldn't bother then since it's already so recent.

are you sure it's not an issue with your VGA cable or display? You could always try an HDMI to VGA adapter for ~$10

I think not. I did tried a adapter. Even that has problems. I can finally get to Windows but it's not properly scaled either. Part of the screen is cut off.

My biggest question is that my PC doesn't even detect the monitor. I tried the monitor on a another Intel PC with Windows 10 and that detected the monitor and showed the screen, tho wasn't scaled properly either (didn't fiddled with resolution settings with that, just quick check).

I don't think my cable is at fault either. Brand new came out of the monitor box (I bought the monitor tomorrow new).

I'd probably just return the monitor, what country are you in?
