Chinese X79t won’t OC above 3.7ghz

Hey guys,

I recently grab some hardware that I had seen on YouTube, mainly just to tinker with.

It’s a “PlexHD X79t” motherboard and an E5 1680v2 Xeon. And yes I know the Xeon draws way too much power for the power delivery but it’s mainly just tinkering hardware. My problem is the CPU won’t clock above 3.7ghz no matter what the BIOS tells it. (I also fully unlocked the BIOS to see if there were hidden options) I have increased power limit durations and toggled P and C states on and off with no luck of getting higher clocks. If anyone has experience with these boards any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

PS I attached a scroll through of the BIOS options I unlocked

I think that's down to the board really, it's a cheap board for a reason.

Meaning no matter the BIOS settings the board won’t allow anything over 3.7ghz?

Pretty much, the board is simply not good enough to handle anything higher.
