All my programs suddenly are in 32 bit

Macho_Nacho

I was in the middle of playing a game and then realized my ping was higher than usual. I then opened task manager to see what programs were taking up my bandwidth and noticed that a lot of my programs were running in 32 bit. I am 100% certain I installed the 64 bit version of all my programs, and I am running Windows 10 64 bit. So what's the dealio? How can I change it back?

Define "all my programs".

Discord is a 32-bit only application. Steam is running 64-bit, Chrome is running 64-bit. What's the issue?

This is perfectly normal and nothing has changed. Many programs are designed to be 32-bit because 64-bit simply isn't necessary and it allows for greater compatibility for anyone that may still need it.

This is completely unrelated to why you might have high ping, and task manager won't help you figure that out either.

Your ping will fluctuate depending on countless different factors. Unless your ping is consistently awful across all of your games, it is probably also normal.

Desktop - CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x | COOLER: be quiet! Dark Rock 3 | MOBO: ASRock X370 Killer SLI/ac | RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz | GPU: MSI RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Trio | STORAGE: 2x XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB, Crucial MX300 525gb, Seagate Barracuda Pro 4TB | CASE: Phanteks P400s TG White | PSU: Corsair HX750i

Laptop - Dell XPS 13 | Intel i7 7500u | Intel HD 620 Graphics | 8GB RAM | 256GB M.2 SSD

Peripherals - KEYBOARD: KBD67 Lite w/Gateron Milky Yellow Pros | MOUSE: Razer Deathadder V2 | AUDIO: Sennheiser HD 6XX, Truthear Hexa | MONITOR: Dual 1440p 27" MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD

Oh nvm then. It's just that I've never noticed that it has always been like that

I'm not saying this was related to my ping. The only reason why I checked task manager was to see if one of my programs were updating in the background. This then led to me figuring out that some of my programs are running in 32 bit.

Thanks for the help guys :)
