Where should my next upgrade go?

Redrooster

I'm good on ram, I got two sticks of 8 gb 3200 mhz. I'm having a hard time between 1080p High refresh rate or 1440p ( I don't know which one I'm going to like more because I can't test either of them, that being said I primarily play single player games )

Im 20 and i just got my first job ( I've been focusing on college, but I took the fall off. I've been living with my parents so I can focus on school work, but having this job will definitely give me some spending money and where else should I spend my money on than my gaming computer)

I might pick up a 1440p 144 Hertz monitor first and then go from there. What do I need to upgrade first? The ryzen 2600 or the rtx 2060?

High refresh 1440p will be limited by the 2060.

@Redrooster

i mean there is nothing wrong with a 2060 and a 2600. What kind of FPS do you want to achieve?

if you want 1440P opt for a 2070 or 5700XT.

i would go with 1440P especially if you are opting for a 27” or larger monitor size.

I haven't given it much thought, tbh. My 16:9 monitor has been enough for me, too bad there isn't a place to test out different monitor types

I might go for a 1440p 144hz and get a 2080 super. I'll still have to cap my fps to have a stable experience in future games ( and some current graphics hungry games )

Why would you need to cap anything?

I don't know. I usually do that for my 1080p 60fps monitor w/ vsync. Then again, I hear gsync is p good

Your 2060 will push over 60 fps in 1440p. Also dependent on settings and game. You don’t need g sync anymore for nvidia cards 1xxx series and up; they both work with free sync or the ‘certified’ G sync compatible monitors l.
