Need help planning a Solidworks/Gaming PC

Need some input on this, been thinking about it for a while and want to start building soonish.

In South Africa (pricing is +- 120% US pricing) - Looking at a max budget of USD1300 (ZAR24000) - That's with that 20% extra accounted for.

Might go to a R5 2600 and buy the H100x AIO later to save a bit upfront.

Here are the two primary places I'm shopping, there are others but their return/replacement policies are rubbish.

I know the PSU is a bit overkill but I wanted something with a zero rpm mode that'll run for all the light stuff (Web browsing etc.) and keep things quiet once the AIO is in place even in heavier tasks.

Was thinking about getting some corsair ML120's at a later point to replace the case/AIO fans later to make everything super quiet/matching.

Looks solid, I would just keep the R5 3600 and not get the H100i, you don't really need an AIO for the CPU. I'd personally get a tower cooler around the $50 range. 

 

Also do you already own the PSU and motherboard?

Nope. Starting this one from scratch. The main reason for the AIO is that this PC is gonna get moved fairly often and I don't want that tower cooler to crunch my mobo.

Edit: Well, i tried to do a list but i'm not comfortable changing anything significant since you don't wanna compromise on everything even if it means overspending, only thing i'd be confident changing is the mortar max for a tomahawk max, not sure why you'd need a 150 mobo on a 200 cpu

Agree on this, AIO performance is not that great compared to the stock cooler. Plus the CPU is not that hot anyway. It sure looks good.

The stock cooler will also do fine and save you a good bit of money and even allow you to maybe get the next step up of gpu or cpu or more of something else.

That is only an issue with large air coolers, I still think a midsize tower is better. And since you do not own parts you should just get a motherboard with WiFi integrated. Also get a better PSU that isn't so excessive, you do not need 750W.

Thanks! I'll find another PSU and ditch the AIO. Mobo pricing is a bit weird for me. The B450I gaming plus is 150% the Mortar max's price in my region. I can get that Asus wifi card for less then the difference so I think I'm gonna stick with the clunky wifi card.

Fair enough then, if it's cheaper to get a different mobo and a separate WiFi card do that. Didn't realize you were in a different region.

But yeah get a better/cheaper/lower wattage PSU and a more reasonable cooler.
