Need help choosing a upgrade for my gaming pc

MPELITE22

I have a

i5 7400

gtx 1060 3gb

16 gb of ram

600w psu

asus b250m-a

I was wondering if I should upgrade my cpu/mother board or gpu

upgrades would be a Ryzen 7 2700x and a gigabyte b450 AORUS M (both 290$ ish)

OR

a powercolor red devil Rx 5700 Xt (440$ ish)

a bit new to pc so I was wondering what would be the play

Why do you need to upgrade? What's the problem in this situation that you are experiencing causing you to want to upgrade?

I was wanting to play more taxing game like battlefield 5 and cyberpunk 2077 on high-ish settings and wanna know what’s the better upgrade to do first as I would have to wait to upgrade for a while to save up again

idk anything about amd but all i know is that you should definitely upgrade ur gpu. ur 3gb vram gpu would benefit much more from an upgrade (sorry about wording and spelling, i'm writing this awkwardly with a few fingers because im eating chips.

To be honest, you will get a higher performance gain if you go for the rx 5700 xt but upgrading to ryzen isn't a bad idea either but for now at least the part that is holding performance back is most likely your gpu
