New bios BSOD MSI Tomahawk B450

I upgraded the bios of tomahawk b450 to version 7C02v1C. Now I get several BSOD especially when it comes to net work activities.

For exmple I tried to access my pc with teaviewer and I after some seconds it crashed or yesterday I tried to download the latest vmware workstation update and it crashed while downloading.

I also had upgraded the amd chipset drivers to latest version before i updated the bios and it worked well without any BSOD.

Any ideas?

Is that a BETA driver? My X370 Gaming Pro Carbon had a similar thing, where it would blue screens seconds after booting into Windows.

Try downgrading to a previous BIOS (which still supports your current CPU).

take a look at memory speed and timings in the BIOS, might be something wrong there.

Main System: Ryzen 2700, Asus Crosshair VII Hero, EVGA GTX 1080ti SC, 970 EVO Plus NVMe, Crucial Ballistix 3200mhz CL14, CM H500, CM ML240L cpu cooler.

I reverted to previous bios. seems ok now. this means that I will stick with it unless msi releases a proper bios...

They won't, Zen 2 is out and they will focus on it unless there is some major bugs. Fine tune your RAM timings and you will be good.

Blue screens are a major bug. Am I the only one that gets them?

It depends, set what your sticks are rated to, might still be unstable because of BIOS but if you didnt touched the Timing at all they might be messed up. Set them manually to what your sticks are rated to and set DRAM Voltage to 1.35 and CPU VSOC to 1.1.

No the timings were as they should 16-18-18-36. I also had enabled xmp(the old bios gave me the choice of profile 1 and 2, now it has only enable disable).

Just updated BIOS to C1. A slew of BSODs even when installing new Windows on a brand new SSD alltogether. Can't get through any installation.

I would suggest you make your how post (nothing rude here) and lets us know what your PC specs are, it's very important to troubleshoot your issues.

Rolled back to 1A, everything works fine again.

 

Specs are R5 3600, MSI Tomahawk B450, XMP profile DDR4-3000.

 

1C seems to be a dud.
