Mix ram speed and make?

Hi,

 

Is it ok to mix ram of differnet speeds and make and what happens does one slow down?

 

I currently have: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) @ 3000 Mhz.

I had to RMA my old ram which I got the replacement back now which is: HyperX Fury 16GB (2x8GB) @ 2400 Mhz.

If you mix RAM modules of different speeds and timings, all modules will slow down to the speed and timings of the slowest module.

If they're supported by your motherboard it should be fine.

They will however clock down to the lowest speeds, that being 2400mhz.
