Windows settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Advanced Options

The turn off the option "We'll show you reminder when we're going to restart [...]"

ah sorry, didn't understood the question correctly.

In the Windows Update advanced options there's also an option to pause the updates for a while.

If you have Pro, there's a GPO setting, if you have the Home version, then you're out of luck.

The GPO ;

Open GPEDIT.MSC

Computer Configuration > Admin Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update

Configure Automatic Update

Enable

2 - Notify for update and auto-install

With that, Windows will notify you that there's updates, but won't download or install anything.

It's possible that if it's unactivated, modifying GPOs won't work.

I'll check if there's a registry key instead.

Yup, found it ;

Go to the following entry in your registry ;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU

If it doesn't exist, create a new DWORD (32bit) key, then call it ;

AUOptions

Then modify it, and change the hex value to ;

2

it should look like this ;

it's all good, just keep this thread somewhere when you need to modify the GPO or do it through the registry, both ways would work.

Also, another setting to change is ; "No auto reboot with logged on users", that will make sure Windows won't restart when a user is logged on the system.

It's a the same place than the other setting in GPEDIT and in the registry, the key is called ;

NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers

With a Hex value of 1
