Nvidia has announced plans to produce its own hand-held video-games console.

Project Shield is Android-based and marries a 5in (12.7cm) touch-screen with joysticks, buttons and other controls, in a clam-shell design.

It is also designed to link to PCs offering access to more powerful games such as those on the Steam library.

You would hope that it would be around the same price as a DS or a PSP. Otherwise if it's more then that I wonder how well it would do in the mainstream market.

It looks so weird, I'd rather it not be folding and just have the joysticks and screen next to each other.

It seems too clunky to actually carry around with me unless I had a bag for it.
