You can talk to people and people talk back ('people' may include bots).

It's a way to completely lose yourself in a made up environment with people that aren't always honest socialize.

You can join a random group in the hopes of finding buddies to ... Do stuff with (like talking) or you can make one with friends... Or something.

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

#1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.

Discord's a text and voice application originally intended for gamers. It's similar in practise to Skype, where a primary function is the ability to voice and video call your friends, with the addition of a text messaging section.

There's a lot of additional features such as separated text and voice channels, server roles, and administrator settings, it's almost like a regular group chat you'd make with your friends.

There is also neat things like Spotify and game integration, where Spotify will detect if you're listening to something on Spotify or playing a game, or even streaming, and will display that as your status in addition to whether you're shown as Online, Away, Do Not Disturb, or Offline, or in rare cases for when you stream, show 'Streaming',
