Are this temperatures ok? Ryzen 3700x at 80ºC

also might wanna oc ur ram to 3200, losing alot of performance there. (10%+)

I was testing the temperature of my new 3700X and it seems a "bit hot". It reach easily 80ºC in the Ryzen Master stress test and it's 50ºC on idle. I'm worried

 

CPU: Ryzen 3700X

Water Cooling: Enermax Liqmax II 240

BIOS: Update AGESA 1.0.0.3 ABBA (F5a)

Any thoughts?  I'm really lost because i have the pump in the CPU_OPT, the two fans of the radiator on the CPU_FAN, the thermal paste is Artic Silver 5 applied spreading the paste (and I think that is not because of cuantity looking at this GamersNexus video: )

Seems normal. Ryzen 3000 is 7nm, so very heat dense, especially the 3700x and 3800x, all the heat is located on a single super small die, so most coolers aren't really designed to cool it effectivly. I got 85-95c with a Noctua NH U9S, and that thing is designed to cool threadrippers...

TG Kryo will drop your temps by 3c over AS5 (in my applications it always does) and you can add 2 more fans if you have room to the radiator for more heat dissipation so that the incoming fluid drawing heat off the block is lower temp.

Looking at Techspot my temperatures are even worst than with the Box Cooler:

Than your mounting pressure needs checked.  Monkey tight, not gorilla tight.  BTW that's a 280mm Radiator example which has 40mm more of surface area to distribute heat so those temps will be a little better than a 240 could yield.

If you believe your TP application is sufficient (I use the spread method, no X or dots of pluses for me) than just apply a little more pressure and see if it changes temps

I just change the VCPU (the 1st one that appears of the BIOS) from 0.980 to 0938, and its amazing.
