How to get WiFi into my room

So I moved into a new house, my room is up a staircase in the other direction to the WiFi and I get basically no signal. 

 

I was thinking I could use a range extender however I don't think there are any plug sockets between the router and my room.

 

What can I do? Not looking to spend more than £30 if possible !

Well you could find a way to route a 100-foot Ethernet cable through your house or maybe through the floor and walls, but.... that is an absolute hassle and would require you to be handy with interior construction.

there are a few restrictions with these. no surge, extension cords. no idea if afci/gfci circuits work.

Powerline adapters are great, however, if you have coax ran into each room (90% of most homes in the U.S. do), I would highly recommend these MoCA adapters instead:

In short, the speeds are much better than powerline and reach almost ethernet-like speeds.  You need at least one pair in order for this process to work correctly.

 

You could also add a WiFi access point/extender to the room you want WiFi access to.

Or they have a Moca adapter with WiFi and extra Ethernet ports. At least from what I have seen.
