PSU for a 1080 ti

swarkzero

Hello,so i'm building a new pc and i'm looking at this PSU- Seasonic Focus Plus Platinum 650w.Also i'm getting a 1080ti so i'm wondering if this PSU is compatible with the GPU since i don't have a clue about pins and stuff.

The PSU has 4 PCIe 6/8 pin cables.

Yes

At idle your at 120 to 140 watts and when gaming you don't even go to 400 watts.  So you have head room so in the future if you want to buy a new video card it will work fine.

I assume your 1080Ti has 2 8 pins or 1*8 & 1*6 or whatever mixture of those.

youll be fine with your psu

Should be fine. Though there might be better options for the same or a lower price. Depends on where you're buying from.

well, yes and no

1080 ti is one of the psus that has shown problems with the current focus line

i personally would get something else, or just wait for the new focus gx/px/gm line

Make sure you use 2 separate PCIe cables however as per Seasonic.

650 is good but you can go even lower if you have the extra money if you really needed you could buy a 1300 watt it won't make a difference but for your setup you could go with 500/550
