SU650 120GB vs A55 128GB?

Hi, im looking to buy an ssd for my moms laptop to speed it up a little, and after looking i found those 2 SSD's. If im not mistaken they should be the best in the price range. The others eithee werent with 3D NAND or were dramless. So between these two which is the better one? Or is there an even better one? Please mention it. Thank you for your time.

The SU650 tends to die spontaneously - it's not a very reliable drive. I'd look at a Kingston A400 if possible.

IIRC the A400 isn't great either.

My brother has one and it's so light that it feels like it's just a shell made of tin foil with sharpie Kingston logo on it.

That's how all 128-256GB ones are - the PCBs are super small but use the standard 2.5" enclosure so it ends up feeling hollow. The A400 is definitely low end but at least it doesn't self-destruct randomly :D

My UV400 feels pretty damn solid, but idk.

The A55 is DRAMless. I've used a few so I can vouch for its efficacy but if you were shooting for an SSD with DRAM you've found the wrong ones.

@hello_there_123 knows about drives real good

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Im just looking for the best SSD's in that range man, i couldnt care less if it had or didnt have dram, the only important thing is the snappy feeling between the drives, after all its for my mom shes just gonna use it for light office work and browsing. I only care about which drive is the snappiest feeling.

Personally I feel as though the A55 fulfills that, in my experience with different sizes of the drive. Although for USD, the TC sunbow will come in a bit cheaper and offer the same experience.

You are buying on the extreme low end. Unless you can find a Crucial MX model within budget, you will need to compromise
