4 Pin LED connector to Power?

Hey all,

 

I recently got a case for my old build with my 2600k build. This case has 3 LED Fans on the front and they have a 4-Pin LED connector to connect all them together. I don't have one of those headers on my old Motherboard. The Case is a Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-DELTA RGB. 

 

Anyone know how I can get Power to these LEDs? Anyone know a connector I can buy to get power to this?

If you have a meter, check and see if the lights are actually tied to the 12V line, or if they are 5v.  It'll probably be easier just to snip the LED lines and solder them separately to a molex connector that cant connect to your system's PSU.

The 4-pin LED connector is a "standard" 5050 RGB LED connector.

Ideally, it is connected to a 4-pin RGB header on a motherboard -- it doesn't give power to the fan, but just the lighting control, etc.

You could buy a RGB control hub...like Corsair's iCUE controller.

Gotcha. Yeah I got power to the fans connected to my Motherboard. Just no lights. I think that controller is alot of money as well -_-

Thanks though. I didn't know the name of that connector.

 

Might need to check with Corsair to make sure it's 100% compatible...because the in the iCUE description, it only mentions ADDRESSABLE RGB lights (e.g. 3-pin).

Calling on @Corsair Nick . Wondering if @jonnyGURU can chime in as well.

 

Otherwise, Cooler Master has an RGB Controller as well.

Yeah I do see that in the picture that they are 3-pins.

The RGB fans equipped in the Corsair SPEC-Delta are not compatible with our iCUE LED controllers like the Lighting Node Pro, Commander Pro, and new Lighting Node Core.  They were designed with the intention of connecting to your motherboard RGB header, and controlled either through the BIOS or motherboard RGB software.  You would need to find a 4-pin 12v RGB controller to power and change the colors.  Theoretically any of them should work as long as they are 4-pin and 12v; there is not currently a standard name or type, but often referred to as ARGB or 5050RGB.  Hopefully this helps.

 Asus P8P67 Deluxe?  Yeah... that's a pretty old motherboard.

 

Time to enter the era of DDR4.....
