Hey there,

I am a new(ish) guy to pc building and have been looking to build my own pc to game on. I've concluded that I want to build it into an mini itx case.

The trouble is, it's been 16 years since I built a pc (I built one with my father when I was about 8, so it's been awhile)

I would like to know your opinions on the different itx cases that you've experienced, its pros and cons and such.

Thank you very much.

For usability/airflow, Silverstone Sugo SG13 is really good. Airflow and cable management is good, while not being too big

Looks, maybe NZXT H200? Airflow here is questionable but it has nice aesthetics

What's your budget and location? We can help with the rest of the build

My budget isn't really a factor since it's more of a long term project. Basically, I am building it until I am happy with it.

As for your suggestions, I am more on the case ability rather than looks, so I'll look into that first case.

Thanks.

As for the rest of the build, I have a fair idea on that, except which motherboard to get.

pick the shape you like first, no point getting one if size doesnt favour you.

eg cube shape/ shorter tower/ ps4 size etc

That makes sense. Though, I am not fussy how it looks per se. I'm more interested in how the case functions.

Maybe link it to us via pcpartpicker?

Here's a shopping filter to help you out :)

Cases like the Silverstone SG13, RVZ01/02/03, Fractal Design Node 202 are usually go to-'s for their small volume while stillbeing able to fit most standard sized hardware.

Cases like the NZXT H200/210, Fractal Design Nano S, Core 500, MettalicGear Neo Mini, Neo G Mini and Thermaltake Core V1 are bigger, but offer more flexibility for things like larger CPU coolers, GPU cards and even some wwatercooling capabilities.

Sugo SG13B is shoebox sized, easy to build in, affordable, checks all my boxes and looks great.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Do you mind to get any of the enthusiast ITX cases like NCASE M1 and the likes? They are expensive because reasonable factors, but they are really good..

The Lian-Li TU150 just came out and is by far the best ITX case over 20 liters in volume. Smaller cases you're best off going over to someplace like OptimumTech's youtube channel and watching all his ITX case reviews because they've all got pros and cons and get quite finicky.

My wife's workstation is in a Fractal Design Node 202 and I've done three other builds in their Core 500 case.  Both cases can accommodate decent size air coolers  which some other brands cannot.  I believe Hardware Canucks have done YouTube reviews of most of the ITX cases mentioned above and those are worth watching.  I know they did a favorable review of the Fractal Core 500.
